The features are the best that you can probably get from any host, free or paid. The server speed is lighting fast. The registration process is simple and very quick. I was installing Drupal, but due to some error I could not. They have an excellent control panel (VistaPanel; it was previously VHCS control panel with Zantastico PHP script installers) that is both quick and easy to use. Their support is awesome - fast, with professional replies. They even installed things that I did not manage to install for me. The control panel even has Net2FTP, which is a great online FTP software. I do not even use a client FTP; the web FTP is really all you need. The server is pretty quick - not the quickest, but we are not talking about paid hosts here. It has had almost no downtime at all, except for once, when they were attacked by DDoS. Even then, the problem was swiftly taken care of, and normal service was resumed quickly. They offer 5 MySql databases, and that is more than enough for your standard website. I have not encountered any MySql errors with them, although PHP applications using MySql are a bit on the slow side. To conclude, I really recommend Byet Host. They are a really great team, and I will be upgrading to their Premium Service when the time comes.

Having never needing support before, I had not registered on the forums, and seems I couldn't register during the DoS attack, so could not read their post about it. Other than this one problem, I would have given them 10/10 rating.

It had a simple sign up, and suddenly a few minutes later you are up and running with your free web page mounted. Their servers zing along with masses of space and a nice clean control panel to do the things you need to do quickly. How do they do that? Got a problem? Write it, send it to support, and best of all, they reply pretty rapidly, all pretty clean and tidy.
The thing that makes me chuckle a little about the geeks at ByetHost is that they are masters of the one liners, but hey, why say something in two paragraph when a terse one-liner does the trick. Some of the big boys in the hosting market should take a feather out of ByetHost's cap - the big boys are not that easy to deal with, advertising in your face and their interfaces are dreadful. 
And here's the thing - GET THIS! I have only been using their FREE service... it is cost me nada, zilch, and there are no advertising banners either! After a little more development on my website I aim to show my thanks to these guys by upgrading my webspace hosting account - I owe them that, and it will be a pleasure. Even signing up is a very simple process, with no waiting, no delays -- it is practically instant free web space service. The freehosting they provide is more flexible than most, allowing you to change PHP flag settings, such as: PHP Display Errors, PHP Register Globals, Scripts Maximum Execution Time, Scripts PHP Memory Limit, and PHP Magic Quotes. On top of this, the one account can have several of their free sub domains attached to it, with one account to rule them all. When creating a new subdomain, you have quite a number of choices. I am not even going to list them all. On top of that, so far I have never had downtime. I have never had a single slow mySQL query from server load, and I even deleted about 3000 files and 8/10ths of one of my mySQL databases at the same time, and the server did it instantly, without slowing down or anything. Their support system is simple, but works, and allows me to get responses for just low priority tickets within the hour, and those were just some questions, and were answered perfectly. I have never had to submit a support ticket, because I have found nothing to be concerned about. I have not had a single issue ever.

They have recently introduced a forced banner ad, and I notice that some people here are complaining about that, but unlike every other free server, you can choose where this banner ad goes and design it into your website - something I really value. They offer cgi, php, and up to 3 mysql databases. The web panel provides extremely easy script installers, and you get plenty of free space and lots of bandwidth. Byethost are the best web hosting service I have come across (paid or free hosting), and you can not go wrong in choosing them to host your website.

I would recommend this for anyone, but especially for users who have or want to have a fanlisting website. This freehosting is reliable, fast, and very supportive. When I have an issue or problem with the website not working (errors in my own coding usually), I can get help immediately and often the problem is fixed for me. I am very pleased with the quality of this service.

They increased the CPU quota on my free sub-domain, and now my website works very good. I also want to thank them for help with a spammer who stole my website content to put on his own ifastnet subdomain. They give me back my account and point his old site to my new account. They have a lot of patience to answer my questions and problems. I want to recommend this free webspace hosting comapny as a very good choice.

Another good feature is the automated installer scripts. What I would like to see is a couple of actual email accounts instead of a catchall email address. The web server seems to be a pretty good speed. As I have only used it for about 2 days now, I do not know about support or downtime yet. I would definately recommend this host.

I can not say any negative opinion, because this host is the best! I really recommend it! I have used it about three months so far. The dedicated hosting servers that host your freesites are reliable. I had one error, but they answered and repaired it in no more than twenty minutes! It has average webserver speed, but is rather fast sometimes.

What they offer as a free host is much better than most of the paid hosts, and I have yet to see a freehost as much reliable as byethost. They offer an excelent support for free accounts and already helped me a lot, and always quickly. Definitely the best free host on the web. Try it out to see for yourself.

The main reason I moved to byethost is that it allowed me to upload much larger files than I had previously been able to on other free hostings, and it would allow me to use a function in a htaccess file to create a custom 404 error page, which other freehosts only offered to paying customers. I have never had any problem with the speed of the service or the reliability. I can only remember once when I could not access my website. The only feature I could wish for that it does not currently allow is sending mail, though having said this, I have not come accross another free webhost with as many features as byethost that would allow it. I would definately recommend it to someone with similar webmaster needs to me.
